Using Your Garage for Storage May Not Be a Great Idea
Posted on Nov 22nd, 2017

Approximately 2/3 of homeowners use their garage to store personal items, not vehicles. Even though it’s convenient and “free” compared to a storage unit, there are reasons why you shouldn’t use your garage for storage: http://bit.ly/2iCVBmH

  1. Climate Control - whatever you keep in the garage gets exposed to the highest and lowest temperatures and humidity. That makes your items susceptible to warping, cracking, mold, and mildew.
  2. Security - self-storage facilities tend to be much safer than personal garages. If a thief gets into your garage, he’s just one door away from your home and family.
  3. Access - storage facilities are everywhere these days, many with extended hours. Do you really need instant access to everything in your garage?
